Description
The device is of Italian manufacture (OMAC), a company that supplied the European textile sector with specialised measuring instruments. This particular instrument, with its characteristic green arm, chrome-plated stem, and sensitive measuring needle, is a document of the technological precision required by the textile industry of the period and of Nea Ionia’s industrial prosperity, where refugees from Asia Minor brought their knowledge and techniques, transforming the area into a nationally significant centre of textile production.
It is exhibited at the Textile Museum of KE.MI.PO., Municipality of Nea Ionia.
