Description
Drawn-thread work (*azour*) in linear decorative areas, where part of the weave is withdrawn and reconnected with fine bridging threads.
Filigree—“woven stitch”—in the central motif, creating a lace-like effect without being a separate applied piece.
Corded outline stitching (thread used to form a raised contour) at the corners with the butterflies.
The motifs, characteristic of Alaya’s aesthetic tradition, preserve the symmetry and restrained elegance of Asia Minor design.
