{"id":20986,"date":"2025-12-05T13:42:50","date_gmt":"2025-12-05T11:42:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alaya.gr\/digitalmuseum\/?post_type=product&#038;p=20986"},"modified":"2025-12-08T23:39:21","modified_gmt":"2025-12-08T21:39:21","slug":"1889","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/alaya.gr\/digitalmuseum\/en\/object\/1889\/","title":{"rendered":"Exchangeable Property Assessment"},"content":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An act of the Directorate of Exchange of the Ministry of Agriculture concerning the refugee Maria Tougiousert, in which the value of her lost Asia Minor property is recognised as 44.95 drachmas.<br \/>\nIn 1924, bread in Athens was priced at approximately 4.36 drachmas per oka (an Ottoman\/Greek unit of weight equal to 1.282 kg).<br \/>\nWith 44.95 drachmas, one could buy roughly 10 okas of bread\u2014i.e., approximately 13 kilograms.<br \/>\nThe document is accompanied by a certificate from the National Bank of Greece (1928) for the issuance of the corresponding compensation bonds.
