The Digital Museum of the Alayiotes owes its very existence and vitality to the Alayiotes of Nea Ionia, who responded with moving sensitivity and entrusted the project with a wealth of material\u2014far beyond what had initially been documented\u2014thus enabling the continuous enrichment and scholarly development of its collections. This commitment stands as a promise.<\/p>

Special gratitude is extended to those who, inspired by the creation of the Digital Museum, chose to permanently donate their family heirlooms to the Permanent Collection exhibited at the ALAYA Cultural House.<\/p>

The true contributors to this endeavour are the first refugee Alayiotes themselves: those who, amid the pain and anguish of displacement, safeguarded the precious objects that have now become museum pieces; and those who, during the early years of settlement in Nea Ionia, despite hardship, poverty and the struggle for survival, preserved their family treasures with reverence and passed them on with honour to the present generation.<\/strong><\/p>

Thanks to them\u2014all of them, the great extended family of Alayiotes\u2014the Digital Museum preserves and narrates a cultural heritage of unique and enduring value.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
